Yasemin Sirali transitioned to the third sector at the beginning
of 2010 as director responsible for organizational development at AÇEV, the Mother Child Education Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey. Prior to AÇEV, Ms. Sirali worked as a management consultant for 6 years at the New York City, Philadelphia, and Istanbul offices of Deloitte Consulting. Ms. Sirali graduated from Swarthmore College in 2001 with an Honors degree in Economics and French Literature and obtained her MBA at the Harvard Business School in 2006. We got to know Yasemin Sirali in 2010 at the 3rd European Young Leaders Forum in Istanbul.
An allopathic doctor by training, she set up her organization
Nutri Health Systems eleven years ago, working in the area of preventive healthcare advisory on nutrition and natural herbs. She is also running the Tele-Nutrition Center which provides monitored nutrition advisory programs for lifestyle disorders. She writes for national newspaper supplements and has written for most Indian magazines and many reputed English magazines. She was featured as one of the 50 young achievers in a leading national magazine India Today. She has regular programs on NDTV, CNBC and many others. Shikha is joining us on a forum for the 4th time already.
Paul Vega is a German-born Filipino who is currently a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Asia. Prior to moving to Asia, he worked with McKinsey’s New York and Frankfurt offices. He focuses on telecommunications, high tech, and private equity. Before joining McKinsey, Paul worked in private equity for a joint fund of Goldman Sachs and the Boston Consulting Group in London. Earlier in his career, he also worked for Siemens, BASF, the European Parliament, and the United Nations. Paul joined us in 2002, when the 1st China Europe Young Leaders Forum took place in Shanghai, and was also part of the 2nd Europe Asia Young Leaders Forum in 2003.
Robert Michael Hendrix is a location director and associate partner at IDEO, a global design and innovation consultancy. In addition to leading the Boston studio, he provides guidance for brand strategy on projects ranging from products to communities. Prior to IDEO, he served for six years as chief brand officer and creative director at Tricycle, Inc., a sustainable design company he cofounded to reduce petroleum use in the contract interiors industry. In 2008, he was named an AIGA Fellow in recognition of significant contributions to the practice of design in his community. Michael enriches our network since the 15th Transatlantic Forum in New York last year.
Gudrun Dometeit has been Foreign Editor Eastern Europe of FOCUS magazine in Munich since 1995, and Foreign Editor Asia since 2004. She studied law, sociology and Slavic studies at the University of Gießen, and political science and Slavic studies at the University of Hamburg. Since 2002, when she participated in the 1st German-Russian Young Leaders Forum in St. Petersburg, Gudrun has been a committed member of the Young Leaders Network and contributed in many activities and events.
Paula Cardenau launched and leads the Social Business Initiative in Ashoka in Latin America, which consists in providing support to Ashoka Fellows starting up or scaling for profit social ventures, through linking them with early investors, providing strategic advice and facilitating a community of peers. She is a participant of the Foundation’s 1st Latin American Young Leaders Forum and helped a lot to make it possible.
Patricio Boyd is a founding partner and project manager at Emprenda in Buenos Aires. After his studies in political science he got inspired by a book by Muhammad Yunus: The banker of the poor. With his current partners and friends he first founded Fondo de Invérsion Social (FIS) a social investment fund. Patricio is a new Latin American Young Leader, and joined our network in November this year. Inspired by the thoughts of our six guest bloggers during the Forum, he became a blogger himself in order to add a new perspective to our topics.
